And when I found out it was "only" diabetes, I was relieved. But that was pure ignorance. Even though my husband has had LADA for 14 years, I was completely in the dark about what this meant for my 6 year old. I still prefer this to leukemia, but it's not as simple as I understood it to be. I wrote my first blog post about that, and other things that make me sad: Girl Glycosylated. I just read your post about the Dexcom. We have already completed paper work and it's in the works: here's my blog: http://girlglycosylated.blogspot.com/greenpalmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01270097172421228598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3255735347955921173.post-90950426479249647802013-04-15T22:43:46.185-04:002013-04-15T22:43:46.185-04:00People are ignorant sometimes, but it made for one...People are ignorant sometimes, but it made for one awesome blog post... just sayin!Lorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07192247387107228743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3255735347955921173.post-44916725577268694952013-04-15T16:39:04.221-04:002013-04-15T16:39:04.221-04:00Today I spoke with a coworker today who is my age ...Today I spoke with a coworker today who is my age (late 20s) and a cancer surviver. We were brought together by someone else's stupid question about my diabetes: "Is it manageable?" I simply said "do I have a choice?" Coworker looked at me and said "people used to ask me that, or how I do it, especially when I was in the hospital for a month. People are so stupid. When he choice is do it or die, there is no choice, you just do."<br /><br />So no matter what your "thing" is, no one can really understand it perfectly. But, people with their own, even "worse" things, share that sense of same with you, and you can shake your heads at the "regulars" together.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10120817588251175089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3255735347955921173.post-71492155903677494992013-04-15T16:16:58.951-04:002013-04-15T16:16:58.951-04:00Well said! We share because that's our support system - others respond that they understand, or we are letting others who might feel alone know that we understand. That's all. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
